Fall is in full swing with the Historic Downtown Farmer’s Market bursting with lots of Fall favorites like squash, eggplant, zucchini, apple cider, fresh baked pies, & lots of homemade, flavorful goodies. The District is also embracing the season with LOTS of seasonal specials & pumpkin infused goodness. We are highlighting the best here for you to stay in the know in the hottest district in town.

Sunday, October 15th Roman Nose 5th Anniversary

The official 5th Anniversary party will have music starting at 4pm with rumored accordion involvement, all-day Manicotti specials, & $5 Almond Spritz cocktails with all of its proceeds to Hurricane Maria relief. Like any good party or Italian wedding, there will be 5 Jordan Almond party favor giveaway to represent: health, wealth, happiness, fertility, & longevity. Their Fall Menu rolls out next week after the festivities with dishes like the Tagliatelle con Verdure, which is homemade pasta with zucchini, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, & arugula in a light rosemary cream sauce. LITM Monday Mules & Karaoke

Kick off the week with lots of budget friendly fun & Monday Specials that are sure to make you smile even if you have a case of the “Mondays”. Craft Beer, House Wines, & Martinis are all just $5, & the Mules are just $7! The Cider Mule & the Dark & Stormy are especially warm & spicy. Loosen up with a few because Karaoke starts at 9pm. The kitchen is also open until 11pm, so try the Coconut Shrimp or the mouthwatering Catfish & Shrimp Tacos.


Porta Pizza & a Pumpkin

In honor of Fall, Porta is offering a festive special for the whole month of October. Any night of the week, you can choose between a Marinara or Margherita pizza, 2 seasonal pints of beer, & take home a mini pumpkin all for just $25! Another Fall Favorite there is the Fire Roasted Acorn Squash with house-made ricotta, Calabrian chile honey, & EVOO. Move over Rachael Ray!


Left Bank Burger Bar Happy Hour & Burger Special 

It doesn’t matter what season it is. We want burgers all year long! Happy Hour on weekdays has $5 deals from 4pm-6pm & all day Saturday too! This is the home of “Weekly Burger Battle” with weekly specials battling it out to see which burger gets the most bites. The Specials right now include the Swiss Bliss, & The LaNonna which has been reigning champion for the past 3 weeks with mozzarella, cheese stuffed rice balls, sauteed peppers, marinara sauce, & pesto mayo. Nonna would approve!


Orale Fall Menu

There are a few options for Mexican food in the area, but Orale really stands out if you have an exquisite palate. Their new Fall Menu includes Peking Duck Tacos with Foie Gras, Duck Confit nachos, & a “Campfire” cocktail with rum, anisette, & toasted marshmallow. Paella Mondays feeds two for $44, Tuesday is half price tacos if you pay with cash, & Thursday it is Happy Hour ALL NIGHT LONG. Now I have that Lionel Richie song in my head…


South House Fall Menu & Cocktails 

The Fall game is running strong over at South House. If you are a sweet freak, they are going to be hard to beat. Let’s start with their Fresh Baked buttermilk biscuits with house made cinnamon apple butter & whipped toasted pecan pumpkin butter. Then let’s move to the BOURBON PUMPKIN PIE BROWN BUTTER PECAN STREUSEL. But wait, there’s more…How about Pumpkin Latte ice cream? We can wash that all down with a their Signature “Hey Punkin” cocktail that is all vegan, so it must be good for us. Hey Punkin! Want something sweet? 😉 


Mathews Food & Drink Brunch 

This restaurant is by far a district fav for dinner, but now Sunday Brunch has been added from 10am-3pm! Menu items include Brioche French Toast Sticks with fresh Vermont Maple Syrup, Cheddar Jalapeno Grits with a slow poached egg,  & Scottish Eggs with chili Lime & aoili. In true Fall form, try the Johnny Apple Cedar cocktail with vodka, Amaro, apple liqueur, cinnamon syrup, baked apple bitters, & smoked cedar. Save room for the Orange Basil Panna Cotta dessert!


Pasta Dal Cuore Pumpkin Ravioli

This establishment is known for it’s made from scratch philosophy & only uses the freshest ingredients. Their specials change daily based on the availability of the ingredients, but a recent special included an Antipasto with 3 Pumpkin Croquettes & a Celery Toasted Walnut Salad. Feel inspired to cook? Take home their Pumpkin or Butternut Squash Ravioli. Buon Appetito!
