For the month of April, Iris Sharp will be reading The Wolf’s Chicken Stew on Tuesdays! Hazel Baby provides a limited supply of seat cushions and chairs so get there early!

Thursday April 27th – Live Music at The Pet Shop 8:30pm

The Petshop presents music by local bands Desir Decir and Cicada Radio this Thursday night. No cover, music starts at 8:30pm.

Thursday April 27th Open Mic at Porta Pizza 8pm

Art House House Original Open Mic is held the 4th Thursday of every month. 8 pm – 10 pm in basement of Porta! $5 gets you five minutes of performance time. All spots are first come, first served. Open to all performance artists (comedians, musicians, poets, spoken word artists, etc)! Come on in for a fun and supportive performance environment.

Saturday April 29th – Morning Drawing at Word Books 11am

Join artists John Patrick Green and Sara Varon from 11am-Noon for a morning Draw! This event is part of Reading Without Walls, an annual nationwide reading program encouraging students to read books that they wouldn’t normally choose on their own. This means reading a broad variety of titles with different themes, diverse authors and content, formats, settings, characters, and subjects.

Sunday April 30th  – Jazz Brunch at Atlas Public House

Join the HDSID and Mayor Fulop in welcoming FM Jersey with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. This Bar restaurant is located in the Village neighborhood of the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District. FM will feature 1970’s decor with Rock, Funk & Soul music reflective of the time when FM radio was at it’s height.

Tea NJ is showcasing works by 2 Jersey City artists through the month of April.
Illustrator & Book Designer Maria Mercado will display her recent watercolors & photographer Melissa Buesing, will showcase select images from the Meadowlands project. Tea NJ proudly supports Jersey City based artists. Wall space is given to locals artists and all the shop asks for in return is that a portion of any art sales be donated to charity. Grab a bubble tea or a burger and keep great establishments like this going!
